The lying surface (2) extends on both sides in surfaces (3,4) which pivot relative the lying surface and are dimensioned as to fold over and so cover the patients body. The lying surface terminates in foot sack (16) at one end and is padded (15) in the patients back area. Slide rails are fitted to the underside and at least one rail on the underside of the extensions (3,4). The side extensions have openings (7-14) at the outer edges and holding straps are provided to secure the patient.
