PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent toner fusion, which is caused by an increase in the friction of a cleaning blade, chipping of the blade, and curling of the blade over a long period of time in an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The surface layer of a photoreceptor drum 11 is formed from a non-monocrystalline carbon film. The electrifying roller 12a of an electrifier 12 is brought into contact with the photoreceptor drum surface and conductive particles M is interposed between the electrifying roller 12 and the photoreceptor drum surface. The surface layer of the photoreceptor drum is abraded by the slide friction of the electrifier 12. Abrasion powder produced by the abrasion is supplied to a contact area between the photoreceptor drum surface and the cleaning blade 16a as the photoreceptor drum 11 rotates in the direction of the arrow X.
