PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially synthesizing dimethyl ether from CO<SB>2</SB>and decreasing CO<SB>2</SB>purged to open air by making synthesis of the dimethyl ether from CO<SB>2</SB>available at a low cost based on the total process. SOLUTION: This method comprises reacting gas containing CO and CO<SB>2</SB>, generated from a blast furnace or a converter with a gas containing H<SB>2</SB>and generated from a coke oven. The residual gas is mixed with LNG, added to the gas generated from a blast furnace or a converter and consumed as a fuel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
