Bi GROUP THERMOELECTRIC CONVERSION MATERIAL AND THERMOELECTRIC CONVERSION ELEMENT

A thermoelectic conversion element enhanced in Seebeck coe field to a thermoelectric (electrotherinal) conversion material having a large Nernst effect. When a magnetic field is applied to a Bi group therinielectric conversion material having up to 5 at. % of specified added elements contained singly or in combination in Bi, a Seebeck coetticient increases substantially; and when a magnetic field is applied perpendicularly to a temperature gradient direction and a configuration is employed where electrodes are so arranged that a temperature gradient is given perpendicularl to both temperature gradient and magnetic.
