<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight flat structure for raising seedling, easy to deal with, and excellent in biogradability, and to provide a method for producing the structure. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a flat structure for raising seedling comprises the following processes: a first process of producing a slurry material 5 consisting mainly of a cellulose matter comprising a fibrillated pulp fibrous material 50, a second process of adding a natural binder and a hydrophilic colloidal matter to the slurry material 5 to make a sheet-like material 1 forming a first layer comprising the inside part (A) of the flat structure, a third process of adding a natural or synthetic binder and a hydrophobic colloidal matter to the slurry material 5 to produce a slurry matter 7 for forming a second layer comprising the outside part B of the flat structure, a forth process of making the second layer comprising the outside part B of the flat structure on the surface of the sheet-like material 1 obtained through the second process, and a fifth process of semi-drying or drying the cellulose sheet-like material obtained through the forth process followed by pressing the resultant sheet-like material to form the flat structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
