PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of inner surface coating for preventing elution of metallic ions with respect to a heat exchanger made of aluminum used for purified water or the like. SOLUTION: This surface treatment method for the heat exchanger has a first treatment process of coating the inside parts of plural tubes 2 through which liquid is circulated with a resin solution of relatively low viscosity and a second treatment process of coating the end parts of the tubes 2 which are opened to a tank 3 with a resin solution 11 of higher viscosity than that in the first treatment process.
