PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a deposition layer capable of easily forming the deposition layer having a uniform thickness using an electric discharge machining treatment. SOLUTION: A green compact electrode 14 having at least the same area as a deposition area formed with the deposition layer and a work 12 are disposed in parallel. A feed in a transverse direction of the work 12 and the green compact electrode 14 is stopped until the deposition layer having a predetermined thickness is deposited on a surface of the work 12 at an opposed position to carry out a discharge. The electrode and the work 12 are relatively moved to an adjacent area where the deposition layer having a predetermined thickness is not formed every when the deposition layer having a predetermined thickness is deposited.
