摘要 PURPOSE: An array substrate for a transverse field LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent the streaming of light between two electrodes by maintaining the initial alignment state of liquid crystals even when an electric field is generated between the two electrodes. CONSTITUTION: One side of a gate electrode(114) prepared below source/drain electrodes(126,128) is inclined more than 90 degrees. In the upper portion of a pixel area(P), a pixel electrode(130) connected with the drain electrode and a common electrode(117) formed parallel to the pixel electrode and connected with a storage line(116) are prepared. One side of a horizontal portion(117a) of the common electrode is spaced apart parallel to the inclined face of the gate electrode. The inclined face of the gate electrode is vertical to a rubbing direction(G). In the gate-off state, an electric field(H) is parallel to the rubbing direction.
