PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission/reception method, which enables of it to accelerate the execution speed, to utilize almost all functions constituting home pages, to simplify customizing, and suitable for a chat, access counter display or on-line game. SOLUTION: A user terminal 4 displays an input section 12 of remark contents and names, and a display section 11 of the reception data, on a screen using a browser. When the remark contents and names are newly input at the input section 12, the remark contents and names are transmitted to a web server 2 as the transmission data of a display processing request. When the remark contents and names are already input at the input section 12, the names are transmitted to the server 2 every elapse of a specified time. The web server 2 records the transmission data in a recording file 3, and outputs the execution results described by the Hypertext Markup Language including a script language for returning the data of the newest remark contents, which are transmitted to the user terminal 4. The user terminal 4 extracts the data of new remark contents among the data received by the browser, and adds a postscript to the display section 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
