<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time spent by adjustment work for preventing a color shift in an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A coupling part for detachably coupling a shaft end of each electrostatic photographic photoconductor drum 1 and a drive of an apparatus main comprises a first engaging part for fitting a driven coupling 37 into a spiral shape hole 31d of a driving coupling 31c and transmitting rotational driving power, and a second engaging part provided with a protrusion 31e of a boss 31f and a recess 37b mated with the protrusion so as to match a rotational phase between the driving side and the driven side. The phases of the couplings can be accurately recreated and maintained when the electrostatic photographic photoconductor drums 1 are detached and attached. When the same process cartridge is detached and attached, the rotational phase of each electrostatic photographic photoconductor drum 1 is detected, and only phase control for a motor is implemented.
