PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent cosmetic which is not sticky when used and gives a good feel when touching it and lasting moistness and gloss. SOLUTION: This cosmetic contains a polyoxyethylene dicarboxylic ester represented by formula (1) (wherein R1 and R2 are each H or a 1-4C alkyl or branched alkyl group; (m), (n), X, and Y are each an integer of 0-5 provided they are not simultaneously 0; and R3 is a 0-10C linear or branched alkylene group) and a 10-20C branched fatty acid ester of sucrose, and is suitably used as a cosmetic for hair care and skin care.
