PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting device which is novel in structure and positively connects a horizontal member to a structural member. SOLUTION: According to the connecting device, a pair of connecting fixtures A, A each formed of an assembly piece 5 and a hook piece 6 which is bent and extended from the tip of the assembly piece 5, are hooked on an edge 1' of the horizontal member 1 such as a beam such that the assembly pieces 5, 5 overlap side walls of an engaging slot 9 in a lower opening formed in an edge. Then, a hooking rod 11 is erected across the assembly pieces 5, 5 of the connecting fixtures A, A at an upper front end thereof through the horizontal member 1. Further, a first projection 3 and a suitable number of second projections 4 are projected from a side surface of the structural member 2 such as a column or a girth. The first projection 3 bears the hooking rod 11 by penetrating a gap 12 between the mutually facing hook pieces 6, 6. The appropriate numbers of second projections 4 are arranged below the first projection 3 and interposed between the assembly pieces 5, 5 by penetrating the gap 12. Further, the horizontal member 1 has fitting holes 8 formed in a side surface of the edge 1' in the horizontal direction, into which second hooking rods 11A hooked on the respective second projections 4, and a hooking rod 16 hooked on a lower edge of one or both of the first projection and the second projection, are inserted.
