PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repairing a crack in asphalt pavement, which quickly carries out repairing work, ensures continuous efficient work, seals the crack in a better condition by drying and heating the same, achieves better adhesion by slightly melting old asphalt in the crack, can burn combustible materials and sprouting seeds in the crack, copes with an extremely winding crack, and is free from a fear of damaging old pavement unlike routing, and to provide an apparatus for use in the method. SOLUTION: According to the method, a groove 32 is sequentially formed in the crack 30 or in a pavement upper layer along a crack occurring portion from above the crack 30, by a groove cutter 5, and the groove 32 located at an upper edge of the crack is subjected to concurrent operation of cleaning, drying, and dust-removing by compressed air.
