<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output numbers to an external part by surely reading the numeric characters attached to digit wheels. <P>SOLUTION: This mechanical counter has an area type image sensor 20 for reading the numeric characters 21 attached to the respective digit wheels 11 to 14, a control circuit 40 for outputting these numbers to the external part after converting the characters read by the image sensor 20 into numbers visible from a visual observation window 51, and a reading timing sensor 30 for indicating reading to the image sensor 20 when the first digit wheel 11 detects a nonrotatable area equivalent to one numeric character even when a rotary shaft 15 rotates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
