<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate ordinates of arbitrary measurement point positioning on the same plane from a single image. <P>SOLUTION: An object 20 is photographed with a camera 10 from an observation point C. Distances L<SB>1</SB>, L<SB>2</SB>and L<SB>3</SB>to three reference points S<SB>1</SB>, S<SB>2</SB>and S<SB>3</SB>on an object plane HS are measured. The pixel coordinates of image points Sd<SB>1</SB>, Sd<SB>2</SB>and Sd<SB>3</SB>of the reference points in the photographing plane HD are read out of the images, and converted to two-dimensional coordinates of hypothetical image points Sf<SB>1</SB>, Sf<SB>2</SB>and Sf<SB>3</SB>in the hypothetical photographing plane HF by using characteristic data. Three-dimensional position of the observation point C is obtained with conditions that the observation point C and the hypothetical image points Sf<SB>1</SB>, Sf<SB>2</SB>and Sf<SB>3</SB>corresponding to the reference points S<SB>1</SB>, S<SB>2</SB>and S<SB>3</SB>are on the same straight line, and the coordinates of the measurement point P<SB>(n)</SB>on the plane HS are calculated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
