PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium wherein inorganic particles of metal, an intermetallic compound, alloy, a metal chalcogenide or the like isolatedly exist without flocculating and the intervals between the inorganic particles are controlled. SOLUTION: The recording medium is characterized in that a recording layer containing spherical particles containing the inorganic particles and having a substantially uniform particle size is formed on a substrate.
