PURPOSE: To suppress power consumption caused by the leakage current of a block caused by intermittent turn-on/off of a power source in a semiconductor device. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor device 1 is provided with an error check necessity deciding means 4, the necessity of an error check is decided on the basis of a notice from an error check necessity notification means 6 provided in a block 2 not to turn off the power source, and the error check is applied to data loaded from an external memory means in the case of boot by an error check executing means 5 according to the decision. Besides, the error check can not be completely eliminated, the reliability of a system is secured by forcibly executing the error check once the number of times of boot set by an error check interval setting means 7. Thus, an intermittently operating time can be shortened just for the error check time and useless leak current consumption can be suppressed. |
