PURPOSE: A center supporting grinding method and machine and a centering method of a center are provided to reduce space for a center holding-rotating mechanism of workpieces and for a transferring mechanism, to be small-sized, and to easily secure spaces of feeding, ejecting and measuring dimension. CONSTITUTION: A center supporting grinding method is composed of steps of rough-grinding a cylindrical workpiece(1) by supporting the cylindrical workpiece to both centers with rotating the workpiece at both centers and finish-grinding the workpiece with rotating the workpiece at one center and fixing another center. Both centers are synchronize-rotated by motors embedded respectively. A transferring device eccentrically holds a motor built-in main spindle(3) holding a rotation-driving center(5) and a motor built-in tailstock spindle(6) holding a tailstock center(8). The rotation-driving center and the tailstock center are moved for a grinding wheel by rotating the transferring device. |
