PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix substrate having a plurality of transistors disposed on a plastic or other substrate, without causing misalignment.

SOLUTION: The active matrix substrate 30 has a center line 36 having at least a conductive surface, an insulation layer 37 covering the center line surface, a plurality of function lines 31 having a semiconductor layer 38 covering the insulation layer 37, a structure of fixing the relative layout of the function lines, and first and second conductive layers 43, 42 having portions overlapped with the respective semiconductor layers of the function lines and portions not overlapped thereon. It comprises a plurality of transistors 32 containing regions 44 defined by the first and second conductive layers in the respective semiconductor layers, and a plurality of pixel electrodes 33 electrically connected to the first conductive layer 43.
