This invention relates to a slider (11) for an optical data writing/reading apparatus (1), the slider carrying an optical lens (40) defining a focal point (42), the slider having a configuration such that, upon variation of the disk speed such as, for example, caused by a slider movement from an inner diameter to an outer diameter, the pitch angle varies owing to a pivot movement about a pivot axis which lies in a vertical plane through the focal point, the pivot axis preferably coinciding with the focal point. Thanks to this configuration, the flying height (HF) of the focal point (42) remains substantially constant.
