PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for remotely resetting a BTS(Base Transceiver System) are provided to remotely reset the BTS in a state in which communication is disconnected between a BSC(Base Station Controller) and the BTS. CONSTITUTION: A controller(201) generates a pattern insertion command in case that communication is disconnected between a BSC(20) and a BTS(30). A pattern generator(202) generates a specific pattern by the pattern insertion command from the controller(201) for resetting the BTS(30). An E1/T1 frame generator(203) inserts the specific pattern from the pattern generator(202) into a certain time interval of a transmission frame, and transmits the transmission frame. A pattern detector(304) monitors the certain time interval of a reception frame, and checks whether the specific pattern is received. If the specific pattern is received, the pattern detector(304) counts the received number of the specific pattern, and generates a reset signal when the count value is identical to a certain value. A power(308) re-boots a main board by the reset signal from the pattern detector(304), and resets the BTS(30). |
