PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vinyl alcohol polymer film which is useful as a material for manufacturing a polarizing film and of which the local unevenness of the thickness in a portion corresponding to a joint of an endless belt is small. SOLUTION: The vinyl alcohol polymer film is made by a method wherein a film-making material containing a vinyl alcohol polymer is cast or discharged from a slit-like opening part being slender in the width direction of the endless belt onto the endless belt stretched between two or more rolls. The unevenness of the thickness of the film in a portion corresponding to the vicinity of the joint of the endless belt is 15μm or less. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
