PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MPEG recorder, a recording medium, a reproducing device, and a transmission device that can maintain compatibility of a system in the case that an external transport stream is again set to a reproducible device or the like after MPEG transport stream data received from e.g. a digital broadcast program and a D-VHS are converted into MPEG program stream data and recorded in an optical disk or a hard disk or the like. SOLUTION: The MPEG program stream converted from the MPEG transport stream and PSI/SI information separated from the MPEG transport stream are linked to each other and the resulting stream is recorded on a recording medium. In the case of transmission, the MPEG transport stream converted from the MPEG program stream and the PSI/SI information are multiplexed again and the multiplexed stream is transmitted.
