PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber and a method of line laying the optical fiber by which the optical fiber is accurately positioned and fixed even when 'an optical fiber crossing' exists. SOLUTION: The optical fiber is characterized by the fact that a adhesive layer is formed on the surface of a protective layer of the optical fiber which is composed of an optical transmission layer and a protective layer.
