PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas leakage detection device capable of surely detecting leakage gas even when the quantity of the leakage gas is small or when an inspection object is separated from a gas sensor. SOLUTION: An engaging member 2 engages a battery 3 which is the inspection object for gas leakage inspection, and forms a gas passage 4 for passing the leakage gas. The gas sensor 6 for detecting the leakage gas through a tube is disposed in one direction of the gas passage. In addition, a gas delivery means 10 for delivering a gas hardly reacting with the gas sensor as an assist gas is disposed in the other direction of the gas passage, to thereby constitute this gas leakage detection device 1.
