This invention relates to a recording system,and more particularly,but not exclusively,to a recording system for use in the official registration of motor vehicles and for the recordal of other information relating to transactions in respect of motor vehicles.The system includes a database for storing object information relating to a number of objects such as motor vehicles.Access control means is provided for allowing access to the database via a user upon provision of an authorised password to view at least part of the information or to view and to change at least part of the information.
