Apparatus and method of generating an XML schema to validate an XML document used to describe network protocol packet exchanges

A method, system and apparatus for generating an XML schema are provided. To generate the schema, transition states of the packets have to first be identified. Then, based on the transition states to investigate, the schema may be generated. The schema contains all the rules and definitions needed for validating an XML document.
