PURPOSE: Provided is a conjugate of interferon-α(IFN-α) and methoxypolyethylene glycol-propionaldehyde which has improved pharmacokinetic profile and pharmacological property by reducing immunogenicity of IFN-α, increasing its residual time in the body while keeping the activity. It is used in treating type B and C hepatitis virus and as anti-cancer agent. CONSTITUTION: A conjugate comprises Interferon-α which is wild type or recombinant Interferon-α such as Interferon-α-2a or Interferon-α-2b whose amino terminus is connected to methoxypolyethylene glycol-propionaldehyde derivatives with 1,000-1,000,000mol.wt. selected from linear methoxypolyethylene-amide-glycol-propionaldehyde, methoxypolyethylene glycol-urethane-propionaldehyde and pendant methoxypolyethylene-amide-glycol-propionaldehyde or methoxypolyethylene glycol-urethane-propionaldehyde. |
