摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the measurement accuracy of a sensor utilizing attenuation of total reflection because of the surface plasmon resonance or the like by suppressing the temperature increase of liquid sample in a measuring chip. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid sample composed of a specimen and a solvent is dropped and supplied by a liquid sample supplying mechanism 70 onto the measuring chip 10 where a sensing material is fixed, and a light beam with the energy of 50 mJ/mm<SP>2</SP>is made to enter at various angles so that the condition of total reflection is formed at the interface between a metallic film formed on the bottom surface inside the measuring chip 10 and a dielectric disposed thereunder, and a light beam 30 generated by the total reflection at the interface is detected by a photo detector 40, and the variation over time of the angle of total reflection damping is obtained based on the detected optical value, and the coupling state between the sensing material and the substance to be tested is measured. The change of the refractive index of the liquid sample due to the temperature change of the liquid sample caused by irradiation with the light beam 30 is about 100 in terms of molecular weight, and the molecular weight of the substance to be tested is not less than 200, and therefore the effect of the temperature change on the change of refractive index is made little, and the accuracy of measuring the state of the attenuation of total reflection is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p>
