摘要 <p>The present invention involves a venting system for venting a gaseous fluid from a tank (10) having an aperture (42) and a fuel delivery module cover (36 Fig 1). The tank (10) is made of a predetermined material. The venting system comprises a venting valve (48) within the aperture (42). The venting valve (48) includes a valve body (60) having a top portion (62) and a neck portion (64) extending from the top portion (62). The top portion (62) is outside the tank (10) and is engaged thereto. The neck portion (64) is in the tank (10) and has an index (70) and a port (76) extending from the neck portion (64). The port (76) is formed below the index (70) relative to the top portion (62). The port (76) is in fluid communication with the valve (48) when the valve (48) vents the gaseous fluid. The venting system further includes a channel (82) having first and second ends (88,90). The first end (88) connects to the port (76) within the tank (10). The second (90) is attached to the fuel delivery module cover (Fig 1, 36) to allow the gaseous fluid in the tank to be vented therefrom. The venting system (12) further includes a cover (96) comprised of the same predetermined material and welded to the tank (10) to seal the valve (48) between the cover (96) and the tank (10). The venting valve (48) may include a spring and float assembly (98) housed therein as a mechanism for allowing gaseous fluids to be vented.</p>
