PURPOSE: A level shifter is provided to operate certainly even when a power supply voltage is low. CONSTITUTION: According to the level shifter(18), the first switch(20) operates in accordance with a control signal and receives an input signal. A voltage conversion circuit(22) converts the input signal having a voltage and being transmitted via the first switch into an output signal having a different voltage from the voltage of the input signal. And the second switch(26) connects an output node of the voltage conversion circuit to a voltage line supplied with a voltage which the voltage conversion circuit should output in accordance with the input signal.
