When a cover (13) is retracted, a working member (28) is retracted through a lock piece (25) provided on the cover (13). Consequently, a link body (33) linked rotatably with the working member (28) turns about the rotary shaft (9a) of a platen roller (9), and a first cam (36) provided on the link body (33) separates a paper guide (10) from the outer circumferential surface of the platen roller (9) while resisting against the urging force of an urging means (16). At the same time, a second cam (37) pushes up a thermal head (8) while resisting against the urging force of an urging means (19) to separate the heater part (8a) of a thermal head (8) from the outer circumferential surface of the platen roller (9). Consequently, a sheet (4) can be removed easily from the outer circumferential surface of the platen roller (9).
