Process for joining a flat component (2) to a hollow profile (1) comprises positioning the component with the hollow profile in a high pressure deforming tool, and subjecting the hollow profile to an inner high pressure in which the walls (3, 5) of the hollow profile and component are impinged with a stamp (6) integrated into the deforming tool. The wall of the hollow profile is perforated so that the perforated slug attach to one point of the perforated edge (8) and increases up to a free end (9). A section in the form of a clip (10) is bent in the hollow profile into a position interacting with the edge of the hollow profile. An Independent claim is also included for a device for joining a flat component to a hollow profile. Preferred Features: The contour of the clip is embossed onto the component before inserting into the deforming tool.
