PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intaglio plate, which is suitable for the formation of a very fine pattern and has an excellent durability due to its surface being hard to take scratches, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This highly durable fine-pattern forming intaglio plate is equipped with a board 11 having a notched part 14 comprising the predetermined pattern and a metal film 15 formed on the notched part side surface 12. The thickness T of the metal film 15 formed on the board 11 of this intaglio plate is set to satisfy formula (1): 0<T<W0 /3 under the condition that the ratio of the depth D0 of the notched part 14 to its width W0 satisfies an inequality (i): D0 /W0 <1/3, satisfy formula (2): 0<T<D0 under the condition that D0 /W0 satisfies an inequality (ii): 1/3<=D0 /W0 <1/2 and, at the same time, satisfy formula (3): 0<T<W0 /2 under the condition that D0 /W0 satisfies an inequality (iii): D0 /W0 >=1/2.
