PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sintered ferrite magnet having higher magnetic characteristics than that of a conventional La- and Co-free sintered Sr-based ferrite magnet at a manufacturing cost which is substantially equal to that of the sintered Sr-based ferrite magnet. SOLUTION: This sintered ferrite magnet contains Fe, an element A (at least one kind of element selected from among Sr, Ba, Ca, and Pb), an element R (at least one kind of element selected from among rare-earth elements and Bi and necessarily containing La), and an element M (Co or Co and Zn) and has a hexagonal magnetoplumbite-type ferrite as a main phase. This magnet contains R-rich crystal grains containing R-oxides at a relatively high content and R-poor crystal grains containing the R-oxides at a relatively low content. |
