PURPOSE: A method for controlling operations in a foldable mobile communication terminal capable of providing an HDR(High-speed Data Rates) service is provided to selectively supply battery power or correspondingly perform a signal process for wireless parts on the basis of a sub-body open check or a response from an external terminal, so as to reduce battery power consumption and loads of hardware and software for two wireless receiving parts related controls. CONSTITUTION: If an external terminal is connected to a mobile communication terminal(200), a controller checks whether a sub-body is opened or shut(202). If the sub-body is opened(204), the controller supplies battery power to the first wireless part and the second wireless part and processes signals related to the first and second wireless parts(216). If the sub-body is not opened(204), the controller transmits an inquiry message for checking whether the connection is for an HDR service to the external terminal(206), and decides whether a response is received from the external terminal(208). If so, the controller progresses to the step 216, and if not received, the controller checks a current mode of the terminal(210). The controller decides whether the current mode of the terminal is a traffic mode for an HDR service(212). If so, the controller progresses to the step 216, and if not a traffic mode, the controller turns off a switch to prevent battery power from being supplied to a dedicated wireless receiver of the second wireless part and processes signals related to the first wireless part(214). |
