During the cleaning process when the workpiece is set in vibration and the dirt particles etc are drawn off from same through suction air a jet of cleaning fluid is sprayed at least at times under pressure onto the workpiece (2) and is then sucked off with the dirt particles. The fluid and particles can then be separated for recycling or re-use. Independent claim describes device with spray nozzle (11) for cleaning fluid jet and with separating device to separate the fluid and solid parts.
