PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that since a decision can be made whether a recording medium wound with a roll label has been set or a noncontact IC, e.g. an RF-ID, has been incorporated in the recording medium only after recording operation is started, it may cause the waste of recording medium or the loss of operating time. SOLUTION: The recorder comprises a noncontact IC communication means including a recording medium setting part within a communication range and setting of a recording medium or incorporation of the noncontact IC in a sheet being used can be checked previously by retrieving the noncontact IC in the vicinity of the recording medium setting part. |
