METHOD FOR PRODUCING METALLURGICAL COKE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metallurgical coke whereby a high-reactivity and high-porosity coke can be produced without detriment to its strengths by using a common coal blend. SOLUTION: The metallurgical coke is obtained by adding to coal pseudoparticles each of which is composed of a core being a pore former and a pore wall reinforcing material adhered to the periphery of the core and carbonizing the coal blend containing the pseudoparticles. The pseudoparticles can be obtained by mixing the pore former with a gasification catalyst, making a pore reinforcing material adhere to the periphery of the core, and optionally mixing a fibrous material with the coal containing the pore wall reinforcing material.
