PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection pump of high reliability capable of preventing the cut-off of a fuel passage caused by a foreign material or the like mixed in fuel. SOLUTION: An annular fuel throttle passage 67 is formed to limit the flow of the fuel between the inner peripheral wall 61a of a body 61 and the outer wall of a spherical body 66 by the abutment of the spherical body 66 as a movable member on a seat part 65 by the flow of the fuel. When the foreign material is mixed in the fuel, a situation that the fuel throttle passage 67 is fully clogged by the foreign material is restricted to occur. When the flow is stopped, the abutment of the spherical body 66 on the seat part 65 is released to eliminate the foreign material jammed in the annular fuel throttle passage 67, and the required quantity of the fuel is secured. The sufficient quantity of the lubricating fuel for sliding and cooling a driving shaft and a cam inside a pump cam chamber is secured. Baking in the sliding part is thereby prevented, and reliability when rotating the engine at a high sped can be improved.
