TREATMENT METHOD FOR AMMONIA-CONTAINING WASTE LIQUID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ammonia decomposition method not having a defect such that chloramine is generated if pH is lower than 5.6 in a conventional discontinuous method for decomposing ammonia by hypochlorous acid and a reaction speed becomes slow if pH exceeds 9.5. SOLUTION: When a condition with pH 10-14 and a temperature from 50 deg.C to a boiling point is set in a method for treating an ammonia-containing waste liquid with hypochlorite, ammonia is oxidized to be decomposed into nitrogen and water.
