PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To curtail a kind of repair parts at breakage of a discharge lamp bulb incorporating a circuit and to enable repair with other members diverted for want of applicable repair parts. SOLUTION: A conversion adapter 3 is mounted on a discharge tube 1 not equipped with a base for insertion-coupling with an insertion-coupling part 25 with a bulb base of a socket 2a with a built-in circuit, for use as a substitute for a discharge lamp bulb with a base 35. The conversion adapter 3 is not only provided with a base 35 for insertion-coupling with an insertion-coupling part 25 of the circuit-built-in socket 2a but also bulb electrode insertion-coupling openings 31, 32 to insert bulb electrodes 11, 12 of the discharge lamp into, each bulb electrode electrically connected to an adapter electrode. Further, a discharge lamp having a base for insertion-coupling with the circuit-built-in socket 2a may be used, with a conversion adapter mounted, as a substitute part for the discharge tube 1 without a base. |
