PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deviation of an optical modulation waveform from a desired value caused by the distortion, skewing or the like of an optical modulation control signal waveform, and to meet the requirements of a higher speed of information recording and higher density recording on an information recording medium without sacrificing costs or performance. SOLUTION: A light is emitted from a light source by a plurality of pulse train waveforms based on a multivalued irradiation level corresponding to a binary signal recorded on an information recording medium and, when the information recording medium is irradiated with the emitted light to form a recording mark corresponding to the binary signal, a frequency and a duty of the pulse train waveforms is set. |
