PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor, having superior heat resistance and superior capacitor properties, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same having superior workability and cost benefit. SOLUTION: A capacitor element, in which an aluminum anode foil applied with a chemically converted coating and a facing aluminum cathode foil are wound up with a piece of separator paper which is interposed therebetween, is subjected to heat treatment. Thereafter, the element is subjected to either a) dipping in a solution containing de-doped polyaniline and a solution containing a dopant, one after the other, followed by drying, b) dipping in a solution containing de-doped polyaniline and organic carboxylic acid having 2.5 to 4 pKa value in aqueous solution, followed by drying, or c) dipping in a solution containing de-doped polyaniline, followed by drying. The element is then dipped in a melted and liquefied TCNQ complex salt, followed by cooling and caking, to form an electrolyte consisting of a conductive polyaniline layer and a TCNQ complex salt layer.
