The invention relates to a mast (7) for wind energy turbines, comprising a pod (3) at its upper end. A support structure (8) is located diametrically to the pod and on the opposite side to the propeller. Said structure is supported on the mast by a pivot bearing (10) at the top of the mast and by a lower pivot bearing (11), positioned at a considerable distance from said upper pivot bearing, and can rotate in both directions about the longitudinal axis of the mast. In contrast to masts in prior art, the rotor is thus no longer mounted centrally at the top of the mast, allowing favourable force-induced stresses. In addition, the dreaded dynamic pressure which often occurs between the propeller and the mast and the accompanying disadvantages are almost completely eliminated. |
