The invention provides novel polynucleotides and polypeptides encoded by such polynucleotides and mutants or variants thereof that correspond to novel human prokineticin-like polypeptide. Polynucleotide of the invention comprises of nucleic acid sequence isolated from cDNA library prepared from human bone marrow Clontech mRNA SEQ ID NO: 1 for prokineticin-like polypeptide. Other aspects of the invention include vectors containing processes for producing novel human prokineticin polypeptide, and antibodies specific for such a polypeptide.
