PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect a plug for an optical fiber to a socket for an optical fiber without taking the position of the plug for the optical fiber around the axis into consideration so that the plug for the optical fiber is connected to the socket for the optical fiber even when the plug for the optical fiber is located at any place around the axis. SOLUTION: The plug for the optical fiber includes a main body, a neck formed on the main body, and a tube extending from the neck. The tube is provided with an annular seal ring formed on a neck nearby the joining part between the neck and tube so as to correspond to a recessed part of the socket for the optical fiber. Further, a cap part is formed at the joining part between the main body and the neck so as to prevent the optical fiber inside the socket for the optical fiber from being contaminated.
