PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive, simple and easy method for lowering coherence of laser light. SOLUTION: The sectional shape of a glass fiber is made square or rectangular. An optical system using it is constituted together with a collimator lens and a condenser lens to form a rectangular light energy distribution. When a transmission or reflection body of an imaging optical system is illuminated, an image of a fiber projection end surface is put over a body surface.
