PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent burrs produced while cutting a round billet from being crushed in a transfer step to a deburring device or a transfer roller from being damaged thereby, and to direct the burrs upwardly so as to prevent the degradation of the surface quality of a succeeding round billet caused by flaws on the transfer roller transferred to the succeeding round billet. SOLUTION: Marking letters 4, numerals, and symbols printed on the cut end face of the round billet held on a turning roller 21 to rotatably hold the round billet 1 are read by an image processor 11. A control device 18 receives the marking letters 4, numerals, and symbols read by the image processor 11, and outputs a signal to a rotating device 23 to rotate the turning roller 21 so that the burrs 1a are located in an upper part based on relative positional relationship between the received input and the position of the burrs 1a generated in the cut end face of the round billet 1 and a round billet diameter and a turning roller diameter which are input in advance.
