PURPOSE: A composition containing a silver compound for prophylaxis and treatment of a skin disease caused by microorganism infection such as fungus, bacteria and virus without tolerance is provided. The composition inactivates pathogenic bacteria within about 5min and thus reduces various adverse effects such as abnormal liver function by the use of antibiotics for a long period of time. CONSTITUTION: A formulation for treatment of a skin disease contains 5 to 10,000ppm of silver compound. The silver compound is either silver organic salts or silver inorganic salts. The formulation is prepared into a type of a liquid, a gel, an ointment and a cream and can be applied to any one suffering from tinea unguium, tinea pedis and tinea manuum, fungal alopecia, herpes simplex virus, acne, eczema, contact dermatitis and dermatomycosis.
